Dear Officers of the NYPD,
From what I have been hearing it has been another
busy season for New York's Finest! Aren't you glad that it is almost time for your annual Police Retreat?
Some say,
"I never retreat!" This is not a retreat into defeat! It is a conscious decision to pause, retool, refresh, and
to connect with the ultimate Source of our strength and wisdom to do our job well - and to live the whole of our lives with
a sense of meaning and direction.
I look forward to seeing you again. So does Fr. Michael Greene, C.P., who has rejoined
the Retreat Team at Bishop Molloy after many years in Riverdale, NY.
Fr. Chris has returned to full time Youth Ministry,
but is stationed in the Monastery wing of our complex. If he is home he is most likely to drop in to say, "Hello".
Now
is the time to mark your calendar: March 6-8. Come and refresh yourself spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
A
young rookie who made a men's retreat in the Fall told me he was going to recruit from his FDNY peers for this retreat.
If each of you were able to recruit even One of your peers, or one of your juniors, we could begin to rebuild the positive
influence of this retreat across the city.
The suggested offering for the retreat is now $195.00 (it costs the Retreat
House $250.00 per person). We continue to ask for a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 to hold a place for you. This is intended
to give us a more accurate indicator of how many will be attending.
Please send your deposit along with the enclosed
reservation card right away. We have included a prospect card that you can use for a friend.
Looking forward to seeing
you soon,
Fr. John M. Lee, C.P.
Retreat Director
